It is cut, then shaped, smoothed, and colored by hand using non-toxic, water based stains, which leaves a pleasing matte finish that is perfect for stacking. This smooth finish allows the natural wood grain to show through on the surface (revealing your one-of-a-kind rainbow!) It also prevents the blocks from slipping when used for building.
